Masking & Repeat Stamping

I’ve been watching some fab technique videos on You Tube and I came by a great one by Jennifer Maguire showing this technique. Although the below images are from a retired stamp set you could use just about any stamp set to recreate this look.

The first step is to stamp the Pelican image in black ink on the white panel.
Next & I should have kept and taken a photo of the post it note mask I made! Stamp the pelican on a post it note
and carefully cut it out, place this over the image on the white cardstock.
Stamp the sentiment many times down the card front in Pear Pizzaz except for one stand out which is in Black.
Remove the mask and your image is revealed!

I kept the inside super simple by sta, ping the pelican a few more times here too

Stampin’ Up! Card Kits

Cards kits are a great way to craft on the go! It’s a great mix of both the worlds I enjoy - holidaying & Card making. Kits are a great size too if you are limited on space as most kits have their own box. Even as an avid Crafter I sometimes need a ready to make card, it’s quite relaxing to just follow the instructions! If you’re new to stamping this is also a great introduction to crafting with all the supplies you need (just glue and scissors required) and a set of instructions too.

Here are all this years card kits, available in the online shop - see them all here.

Healing Hugs - A Monochromatic card, well kind of...

I usually love to add lots of colour to my cards and I was recently challenged to use just 1 colour. If I’m honest I struggled! So I was jumped on Google - searched Monochromatic for some inspiration I came across a beautiful Blueberry Bushell version. I must give credit to Mary Fish whom I have totally CASE’d this card from.

I stamped the leaves off before stamping to soften the vibrancy so the Rose would stand out better.
My inkpads are new and are a bit too juicy at this new stage, some of the Rose detail is lost
You’ll also notice faint Soft Suede lines on the Buffalo Check - these I drew in with a ruler, for a subtle pattern change.

Love the sentiments in this set,

Easy Get Well Card - Pocket Dies

This card is the perfect Get Well card right now. It’s winter here in Melbourne (Australia) and it’s the coldest it’s been in a long time. I was really pleased to see the ‘Pocket Dies’ carryover into the new catalogue. The die set has more of a summery feel to it, but this Pocket is just the right size to hold a (1/4) tissue. You could swap out the tissue for a gift card and make this into a Congratulations or Birthday card too.

I cut the tabs after cutting the Pocket die and used dimensionals only around 3 sides to pop it off the card.

The sentiments are both from the Healing Hugs stamp set.
It is featured on pg 80 of the new catalogue along with many other ‘Distinctive’ (photo like) stamp sets.

On trend colours especially that beautiful Shaded Spruce it’s one of my favourites!
