Modern Heart

As soon as I laid eyes on this set, I knew I had to have it. Not only it is a very cool, modern geometric stamp set it is special for another reason. It was designed by a fellow Stampin’ Up!® demonstrator in Europe - Steffi Helmsschrott. I would love to design my own stamp set (one day!)
I have created 4 similar cards sing some different colours and sentiments from this set.
Here are some close ups of how I made these cards & below I have included the colour combinations.

Stampin’ Up!® Stampin blends are so nice to colour with, I need to complete my set now with some new colours recently released. After I coloured sme of the segments, I filled in the white ones with the Fine Tip Glue pen For a glassy look. I fussy cut the heart, cutting along very close to the outline then glued this to a piece of cardstock and cutting that out with scissors, this time leaving a very fine border.

The inside should be as pretty as the front! Don’t forget to carry the theme through the card.

The sentiments are a really great size and in such pretty cursive writing. I repeat stamped the ‘line’ image vertically across this card, stamping on and off and intentionally stamping unevenly across the card front. A cool background from just one stamp.

The other cards have this watermark image stamped as the background. This is also a great size image and looks great in full strength colour or stamped off for an even more washed out watercolour feel.

Balmy Blue, Seaside Spray & Pool Party

Blushing Brides, Petal Pink & Calypso Coral

Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape & So Saffron

Soft Sea Foam, Pear Pizzazz & Mint Macaron

A quick Bird Ballad DSP card

I love card deigns that are quick n easy. We all need one of those from time to time. My mum has a teeny tiny habit of needing a card on the spot, so I helped her create this Bird Ballad DSP inspires card. Mum chose the colours according to her friends taste and we created this card.

What makes this a quick n easy card? Half the job is done by using patterned paper to create the card base. Fussy cutting images from the same paper packs makes coordinating a breeze all that’s left is to add a sentiment and you’re done! Done in a flash.

A few stamped images to the inside & another fussy cut bird to tie it altogether.

Colours inspired by mum

Christmas Gate Fold Card with Beauty & Joy

It’s only 7 weeks till Christmas! That’s insane. I’m lucky these cute Gate Fold cards are easy to make. I started by stamping this cute Topiary tree from the new ‘Beauty & Joy’ set from the Holiday catalogue in Shaded Spruce (my absolute favourite green right now), Soft Suede & Real Red for the berries. Then using Rectangle dies I cut out the Topiary panel then a frame from Real Red cardstock.

The C6 card base is gate folded in Crumb Cake cardstock. I stamped ‘berries’ in Real Red directly onto the cardbase - top left & bottom right sides & glued some DSP in the opposite corners.
Make sure you decorate the front before sticking the Red frame and white Topiary panels.
Fold the cardbase closed, start by glueing the white panel down (glue only the right half!) followed by the red frame (this time glue the left side only) this way will ensure the 2 don’t ‘crash’ into each other.

Don’t forget to add a Copper Star embellishment (pg31 Holiday Catalogue)

Butterfly Shaker Card

Who loves a shaker card! Meeee. I went all out crazy with butterflies for this card. I’m quite certain the first Stampin’ Up!® punch I ever purchased was a butterfly irised it for everything! Apart from butterflies on every part of this card I have used all the 2019-2021 InColours together. I think they work really well together. Let me know what you think. Which is your favourite colour?

I started out with butterfly die from Springtime Impressions as the cut out piece for the card front.
Followed up next by the butterfly stamp in Painted Glass also for the card front. I stamped this in all the InColours.
Lastly I punched a whole bunch of butterflies in InColour cardstock - I saved the big ones for another project, so I used only the small ones for inside the shaker along with some sequin embellishments.
I’m really enjoying these colours - my favourites are definitely PrettyPeacock & Terracotta Tile

Some colour palettes with my favourite InColours
