Beautiful Gallery Gate Fold Centre Pop Out - Card Chain Swap for Julia

Welcome to the Chain Card Swap Blog Hop! This hop is all about Julia and the CASES of her card. I encourage you to start the blog hop at JULIA's blog and follow along to see the progression of her card through the group. Its so interesting to see the development!

I was 4th in the chain for this round and have created this super cool fun fold, using Beautiful Gallery DSP as the main hero of my card.

Lets take a closer look at this card.
There is just one stamped image and its the sentiment, taken from Beautiful Butterflies.
All the panels are framed by an Early Espresso frame - this rich brown is really growing on me.
To remake this card start you will need the following:
CARD BASE: 20.4x14.9cm // 8"x 5-7/8"
EARLY ESPRESSO PANELS: (x7) 4.9x14.5cm // 2"x 5-5/8' & (x1) 6.7x10.5cm // 2-3/4"x4-1/4"
DSP PANELS: (x6) 4.5x14.1cm // 1-7/8"x5-1/2"& (x1) 6.3x10.1cm //2-1/2"x4"
BASIC WHITE: (x1) 4.5x14.1cm // 1-7/8"x5-1/2"
Heres how I cut the DSP to get a continuous picture ...
You choose how many writing panels you want 1 or 2?
The pop out panel is adhered using 2 small strips of cardstock, ive tucked mine behind the dsp panel so you cant see them.

Ocean Friends in New Colours for Lets Craft Together Blog Hop

Welcome back to another Let's Craft Together Blog Hop! This months theme is Crafty Comeback - OLD meets NEW Challenge.  I knew straight away I would be using Ocean Friends for this project. Then how to meet the new part of the challenge? What better way than to incorporate NEW InColours...and Fresh Freesia, because its so trendy still and I just love it so much!

I have created a fresh look to Ocean Friends by stamping in Cloud Cover and Fresh Freesia.
Here's the challenge details
Lets take a closer look.
This bundle has bold & detailed images for the sea creatures, usually you would use both but I really wanted a subtle look to this card so I opted for the bold image only.
I stamped around the base layer in an alternating pattern, Freesia for the crab and Cloud for the lobster. The bundle also includes some really lovely dies - coral, sea grass and tiny starfish. I die cut in the same colours and added Secret Sea and Blackberry Bliss.
The middle layer is embossed with Soft Waves, and the top layer follows the same pattern as the base layer.
To remake this card you will need:
Base: 1/2 sheet A4 Thick White Cardstock
Base Stamped Layer: 10 x 14.5cm (4"x5-3/4")
Embossed Panel: 7.5 x 5cm (3"x2")
Top Stamped Panel: 7 x 5cm (2-3/4"x2")
Coloured Cardstock for die cuts: Cloud Cover, Secret Sea, Fresh Freesia, Blackberry Bliss
Be sure to continue on the hop below!

Pretty Coloured Sunflowers - 3D Embossing Folder Top Trick

Today Im sharing with you the latest trend with the Sunflowers 3D Embossing folder. You may have seen these being made. I had to try the technique too. I even used it in a recent class and the students LOVED it.

To make this card you simply begin by:
1. Embossing a white sheet of cardstock to the size of your card front
2. Using a dark colour ink swipe the ink pad over the DE-BOSSED side, until you achieve a rich depth
3. Colour by way of sponge dauber the petals and the leaves
It's that easy!
I really love the bright pop of colours you can add with a sponge dauber works best.
This colour combination below is more traditional  - Night of Navy for the background (swipe technique) Crushed Curry for the flower petals, Old Olive and Mossy Meadow for the leaves, lastly followed by Pecan Pie for the flower centres
This colour combination used a lot more imagination.. Gorgeous Grape for the background (swipe technique), Balmy Blue for the petals, Old Olive and Garden Green for the leaves, lastly Daffodil Delight for the flower centres.
How great do they look?
The colours may blend over a little but I think it still looks great!
You could use a mask to help keep the lines crisp if it really bothers you.
For the insides I kept it simple with flowers from RETIRED Cheerful Daisies, coloured in the same tones.

THE main hero of the card is SUNFLOWER Embossing Folder
I didn't realise quite how big the emboss folder was until I had it my hands, 15 x 21cm!
I love this large size, it totally lends itself for bigger projects!
