From cake slice to wood planks for Lets Craft Together Blog Hop

Welcome back to another Let's Craft Together Blog Hop! This months theme is a Photo Inspiration Challenge. Thanks Michele for a great hop theme. 

I have created a 'wood panel' inspired card using a CAKE stamp! Let me explain how I did it, but first lets check out the inspiration pic below for what lead me to this crazy idea. 

Here's the challenge picture as set out by Michele. I'm loving ALL the colours and the vertical wood planks in browns in grey tones. 

Now lets take a closer look at my card. I knew I wanted wood panels and little or no flowers but how to achieve lookalike wood without an obvious stamp or designer paper? The answer came in the form of a cake slice .. from Cake Fancy. Stamped in all the colours - Calypso Coral, Flirty Flamingo, Old Olive, Pecan Pie and Gray Granite - I love it! 

Finished with the postcard stamp and sentiment from Stamped With Love and a pretty bow in the new ribbon and colour Basic Beige!

For the inside some simple stamping with the new Online Exclusive  - Elements of Text (my new favourite background images) the teeny leaf image is from Cake Fancy

I love using stamps in a new and different way - I think its my special skill! Its fun.

Happy Valentines Day 2017

Today is all about LOVE! I have a sweet little notecard that would brighten someone's heart anyday! This card also has no stamping. It's made just from Sending Love Designer Series Paper and a gorgeous new die from the Window Shoppping Bundle. 

 

The sweet love heart DSP just shows through the intricate die. I fussy cut the word 'amor' (love in Español) from the DSP too. Can you spot the Real Red Enamel dots?

I have created 2 love projects - because I couldn't choose which one I loved more!

The Journey Begins
Hubby and I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary this week so this card was definately made with lots of love. I've even coloured the couple to look like us! Our journey began almost 17 years ago and its been wonderful ever since. This card could be altered for any occassion especially with all the great greetings in this cool 'Beautiful Ride' stamp set.  To create the background I used 'Perfectly Artistic DSP' earn it FREE as a Sale-a-bration item.

Life is a Beautiful Ride
I love the VW Beetle - who doesn't right? This stamp set is just too gorgeous, from the images to the sentiments - love love love! This card was super easy to create. I stamped onto 'Love Blossoms DSP' and fussy cut out the car. Can you see I added some vellum to the windows? It's subtle but a cute detail. The rest of the card is a simple layout with more Love Blossoms DSP.
