Celebrate Sunflowers & White Wash Technique

Today I have a new card for you using the Celebrate Sunflowers Bundle. I also want to share my version of White Washing! It’s very easy and very effective. Scroll right to the end to see how I made this card.

Here’s a closer look at some of the front detail.
This bundle is gorgeous and great value at $89 AUD plus postage.

After preparing the base (score in half at 14.9cm & 6.5cm for the easel) sponge the edges of both the Cinnamon Cider frames. I find a dauber is easiest & cleanest too! Don’t worry if it seems dark, the colour will lighten when dry.

Next prepare the front Highland Heather panel. Turn your inkpad of the same colour upside down and use this as the ‘stamp’. Gently stamp around the edges until you have created an interesting pattern.

Ta-dah!

Next in black ink, stamp the sunflower and leaf image around the Highland Heather panel.
Now for the ‘white washing - it’s easy just take a white colouring pencil and colour in the petals & leafs of the flowers.

Sponge the flower centres with a dauber for extra colour.

Don’t forget the inside panel!

For the sentiment, “stamp off” the sunflower so that you stamp the 3rd generation, stamp the sentiment in black and die cut or cut out the image.
Create another flower in black ink for the inside of the card, use dimensionals to prop it up the easel has something to rest up against.

Assemble and adhere all the pieces together

Bird Banter #wwys161

Welcome to another week of What Will You Stamp? To participate in this week's challenge and to see all the great projects from the Design team using this set be sure to visit the What Will You Stamp? Challenge Blog. This week we were challenged to use the Bird Banter Stamp set.
I have created a birthday card with the large parrot. What I love most about this set is that all the images are outlines, which makes it perfect for colouring!

I cut up the sentiment and arranged the words around the parrot as it was too big to place at his feet as a solid piece. The background DSP is from the Tutti-Frutti suite, the 'reverse' sides are great for Layering backgrounds. If you like the colour combination, please share it on your favourite Pinterest board!

Colouring Bird Banter with Stampin' Blends

Squarrk!!! Today's cards feature the very cute birds from Bird Banter. These stamps are adorable & even cuter when coloured with Stampin' Blends. I wanted bright & colourful cards so I paired the images with the bold patterns in the Tutti-Frutti DSP.
I love the way his eyes are closed, like gracious looking.
I love how the colouring turned out here! I love my Stampin' Blends.
I love the message in this one because I also would for a bank and this would be a classic! (Pun on branch!)
I think I might have gone a litttttle too dark on the 'shading' under this bird
