Very Versailles for World Card Making Day #WCMD2021

Every Friday afternoon, my Stampin Mum Kylie, Crazy Crafters have a zoom get together to craft for a bit. Before the VIC lockdowns, I was hardly ever able to make them, but I have soooo enjoyed jumping on when I can to craft along. This card I made in record time! I joined the meeting late and in preparation for WORLD CARD MAKING DAY 2021 (the following day) I created this card. I think the final time was 33mins... which is actually quite fast for me.  LOL 

I picked an 'old' stamp set - Very Versailles and I challenged myself with my own colour challenge  - see my shirt below. I also finally baptised my Blending Brushes.. well lets not go crazy I used one. 

I tried to use the black - but it didnt go so I went with white instead. 

The girls online watched me make this and the GASPS as I ripped the cardstock was quite funny, but its so satisfying - like a stress relief.  My favourite parts to this card are the debossed background panel in Daffodil Delight and the layering/random stamping on the front white panel. 

When you emboss a piece of cardstock you can choose which side you want to showcase - the flower petals will either be RAISED (embossed side) or SUNKEN (debossed). I'm sure either way would look great but its a great tip.

Some light stamping and blending with the brush for the inside.

Colour Challenge #gdp065

As we approach Christmas, I am finishing up some christmas cards for my work friends. What better way to create a quick card than with the beautiful Candy Cane Lane DSP - so sad theses papers have to retire! I was inspired by the designers colour challenge over at the Global Design Project with challenge #GDP065

Here are my creations...super simple to show off the gorgeous fun, happy paper. The greeting is stamped from 'Christmas Pines'.

I love the Metallic Enamel Shapes - can you spot the silver stars on top of the christmas trees?

Another fantastic way to use the DSP is to dress up a plain brown bag.  These bags were given to my Decemeber Christmas Card class attendes. It had everything they needed to make 10 christmas cards.  I will be posting those cards this week - so stay tuned.

Remarkable You've Got This for #GDP001

They've kick started with a gorgeous colour challenge #GDP001

I have used a new ink today and I love it. NEW  to our colours is Basic Gray Archival Ink (also available in Basic Black eeeek!) - a permanent ink perfect for watercolouring. I realised after I stamped my lotus flower from 'Remarkable You' that I hadn't stamped it on the recommended watercolouring papers.. opps! I went with it anyways!
I very carefully loaded up my aqua painter with ink from the ink pads and without squeezing any extra water out, I crazily, randomly & carelessly coloured each flower - that was fun!

Here are the card measurements so you too can create this card:

• Standard Australian C6 card base in Whisper White Thick Cardstock (half A4 sheet)
• Whisper White Panel -  3-3/4" x 5-1/2"
• Coloured Frame Panels - 2" x 3-7/8"(glued overlapping to get the perfect frame!)
• Coloured Strips -3/4" x 3-3/4"

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop July - Favourite Colour Combo

My favourite colour combination this month has definately been all about deep, rich wintery colours. I'm in love with the beautiful colours in the Farmers Market Designer Series Paper pack - the deep purples, red's and greens inspired my projects along with the help of the 'Gift from the Garden' Stamp set.  Here are my cards...

Garden Designed Paper
I created my own designer paper by randomly stamping the images in different colours. Its important to stamp off the edges aswell.  I added a bit of linen thread for some extra ruggeredness.

Lots of Pots
This is a cute little one! I knew straightaway that I wanted lots of dimension on this card. I raised the pot plants on some dimensions and added the little pansy flowers with glue dots. The leaves are from the bird builder punch. Here's also a nifty trick for using DSP.

I {heart} the Garden
I love this card!! It turned out way better than I initially designed. I overlapped all these cool label bracket cut out and added the 1" square cut out on top. If you look carefully I actually created a longer washi cut out for the greeting. Simply cut a strip of 5/8" vanilla cardstock, stamp your greeting then insert each end into the washi punch for the zigzig edge.

I'm loving my own 'gifts from the garden' - here's a pic of our last lot of Capsicums, guarded there by Mr Marco!

Just Add Ink Challenge #266 - Get Well Soup

I must say I really struggled to create with this colour combination! Well I hope you like my card which I think needs some more layers - but thats just the creative critic in my head talking!
I'm excited to share with you the NEW A4 Whisper White THICK cardstock on this card too. It's so much more sturdier than using the regular whisper white- which I always had to 'reinforce' with extra layers.

I recently purchased the 'Get Well Soup' stamp and I love it!! Its a great size and is easy to fussy cut out.  Plus it couldn't be better timing to have this sentiment, my poor kiddies have been really unwell these past few weeks - winter is not agreeing with them at all!

I haven't gone too heavy with the colours this time round.What do you think??

 

Carolina's Tips and Techniques:
With just a little navy for the stamping, I stamped the whole image onto some whisper white & just the bowl onto pink pirouette cardstock.  I then cut out the bowl, here's how I did it. I cut inside the bold lines so that when layered onto the white you can't see the 'joining lines;'
