Cool Pineapple

Today I have a cool trick to share as well as a cool pineapple card! I've gone with 2 new In Colours - Lemon Lime Twist & Tranquil Tide. My cool trick is in the blending of the 2 colours where they join at the neck of the pineapple. I simply used a tool that was most readily available at the time to blend the colours together ... my finger!! There's no trickery really, but I got a fairly smooth blended look by tapping the colours together with my finger.

I started by inking the bottom half of the pineapple in Lemon Lime Twist and then carefully inking the tip half in Tranquil Tide. Before stamping down I used my finger to merge the 2 colours together so as to avoid a harsh line between the 2 colours.

Try making this card!
  • Cardbase in Crumb Cake cardstock
  • A4 cut in half @ 14.9cm [5-7/8"]
  • Scored @ 10.5cm [4-1/8"]
  • Front:
  • Lemon Lime Twist Frame 9.8 x 14.3 [3-7/8" x 5-5/8"]
  • Whisper White Panel 9.5 x 14cm  [3-3/4" x 5-1/2"]
  • Ink one half of image first in lightest colour, then carefully ink other half in darkest colour
  • Join the 2 colours by tapping your finger to 'blend' the lines, stamp image
Love the colour combination? Pin and share it.

Mottled Pineapple Card
I have been obsessed with the baby wipe technique! And this colour combination is definitely my favourite! I may have gone a little heavy with the colours but I love the simplicity of this card and I totally forgot I even owned the Boho Emboss folder. It looks great combined with the Pineapple.
A Strawberry Self Closing Box
Summer treats are always nicer in your own handmade gift box! I have CASE'd one of Dawn Griffiths boxes. Here is the video if you'd like to make one too. I'm in love with all the new products from the Annual Catalogue especially all the beautiful new DSPs. I've decorated this box with my new favourite 'Fruit Stand'. I coloured the sentiment with my markers and carefully cut out around the shape, I don't have a framelit big enough!
Here's a little colour inspiration

This week we were challenged to use the Greatest Greetings Stamp set.
http://whatwillyoustamp.blogspot.com/2016/06/wwys-challenge-68-greatest-greetings.html
How about this card!? I have even stunned myself this week. Greatest Greetings really is just that - great! With so many varying geetings you could never be short of the right sentiment for your projects.
I really wanted a dramatic background and I always like to try new techniques, so this week I gave the Baby Wipe Technique a try? I never thought it would be soooo quick and easy! Hence why I chose "horray for today" it was a victorious day.
I'm loving the splotchy and colour overlaps! The Pop of Paradise suite compliments the BIG pineapple really well. This DSP strip has gold highlights - funky!

Try making this card! Here are the measurements:
  • Aussie C6 card base in Calypso Coral cardstock - half A4 sheet
  • Choose a solid stamp image a have a go with Baby Wipe Technuque (3 colours is ideal)
  • Pop of Pink Specialty DSP Panel 2-1/4" x 5-7/8"
  • Banner made according to greeting size
Be inspired with this colour combination, feel free to share and pin it!
Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed seeing my project please leave me a comment I'd love to hear what you think! Now, get stamping and submit your project over at WWYS#68
