Acorny Thank You Hi Card for #Mojo411

Todays card is really sweet and I love the inspirational sketch design over at Mojo Monday 411.

My card features the new & upcoming 'Acorny Thank You' stamp set which I purchased as a BUNDLE with the matching Acorn punch from the Holiday Catalogue. So cute - I have so many cool ideas for the punch! Can you see the subtle Venetian Crochet Trim on a diagonal in the back? My tip is that glue dots are the best way to adhere any ribbon. There's a few layers to this card but I feel that all the frames finish the look! Read on for the measurements and colours I 've used.

Here are the card measurements so you too can create this card:
  • Standard Australian C6 card base in Tip Top Taupe Cardstock (half A4 sheet)
  • Early Espresso Outer Frame - 3-7/8" x 5-5/8"
  • Wood DSP -  3-3/4" x 5-1/2"
  • Early Espresso Frame -2-1/8" x 4-5/8"
  • Cherry Dots DSP -  2" x 4-1/2"
  • Cherry Cobbler Frame - 2-5/8" x 2-5/8"
  • Whisper White Panel -  2-1/2" x 2-1/2"
I love these dark tones! I'd love for you to share your creations using these colours.

Snowflake Shaker Card #MOJO410 #PP257

These past couple of days were spent down the coast in Lorne. I love the coast and seabreeze even if it is only 4 degrees and wet! We were so lucky that we got to see some Humpback whales! We were like "WHAT?!?! How cool is this?" My kids were so happy, they loved it. Now todays card matches the ocean scene perfectly! And its a shaker card - oh my, so fun - love making them!!
Can you spot the whales?
I'm always trying to find new ways of getting creative and I wanted to experiment with this card so I tried a few new things - did I succeed?
Here's what I did:
1) Add a snowflake to the shaker - SUCCESS I think it looks great!
2) Adhere Bermuda Sequin trim for extra WOW - mostly SUCCESS It adds wow, but looks busy.
3) Glue a few sequins on the background before adding the rest - EPIC FAIL I added too much glue or because the edges are not all flat, the floating sequins got stuck in big clusters!
We need a Blooper Reel over here! I honestly thought this thinlit said "CHEER" as in 'Holiday Cheer' and now I realise it says "CHEERS" which I don't think quite fits the Christmassy feel of this card. Don't get me wrong this die is totally cute, I just feel like Cheers is better suited for a Birthday or a non-Christmas Celebration. To fix this you can easily just snip off the 's', which means you can probably create lots of different words from all the thinlits.
Here are the card measurements so you too can create this card:
  • Standard Australian C6 card base in Whisper White Thick Cardstock (half A4 sheet)
  • Bermuda Bay Frame - 3-3/4" x 5-1/2"
  • Whisper White Panel embossed in NEW Gently Falling TIEF -  3-1/2" x 5-1/4"
  • Old Olive Banner - 3/4" x 5-1/4"
  • Circles Collection Framelits (shaker) -4th & 5th from centre (1-7/8" & 2-1/4")

Todays card was inspired by the very cool designers over at The Paper Players & Mojo Monday 410

Remarkable You - Magnolia Card #MOJO409

Its been ages since I created a card. Life is just getting in the way - you know that feeling right? So today I have created a real gem for you and entered the card into the popular MOJO Monday Challenge!

Here is the inspiration sketch
http://mojomonday.blogspot.com.au/2015/08/mojo-monday-409-contest.html

Here is my card, please read on for a few techniques and tips and the card measurements!

I started off my stamping this beautiful flower in Soft Suede from 'Remarkable You' onto a pretty designer sheet from the English Garden DSP pack. Then I partly coloured it with my Blushing Bride Stampin Write marker - how awesome does it look!? I stamped the dots from 'Work of Art' and the greeting comes from the Exclusive 'Watercolor Wishes Photopolymer Stamp set'.

I want to Thank Stampin' Up! for this beautiful stamp set - which I actually earnt for free in the recent #punchitup competition. Thank you so much I love it!

Here are the card measurements so you too can create this card:
  • Standard Australian C6 card base in Whisper White Thick Cardstock
  • Pear Pizzazz Frame - 3-5/8" x 5-3/8"
  • Whisper White Background - 3-1/2" x 5-1/4"
  • Soft Suede Frame - 2-1/2" x 3-5/8"
  • Shimmery White (inked with Blushing Bride) - 2-3/8" x 3-1/2"
  • Banner Blushing Bride - 1" wide
  • Banner Very Vanilla - 7/8" wide

I'm always looking for ways to 'step up' my creations and I felt that I wanted a more real flower feel so I added some more dimension to this top petal - there's some photos below to show you what I did.

Opps, we're all human right? I actually stuck the DSP on my envelope the wrong way round.
Here's my Envelope tip!

Mojo Monday Challenge #402 - Project Life Moments Like These

I'm pretty slack at printing off photos, surely I'm not the only one? It was something I was meant to get better at this year! So instead of using my Project Life kit for memory keeping I have used the beautifully designed cards to create todays card, which I entered into this weeks Mojo Monday #402 Challenge.

Here is the inspiration sketch by the very talented Julee Tilman

Mojo Monday Challenge #401 - Farmers Market Card

I had so much fun last week that I'm back for another Mojo Monday sketch. I just received my BBB earlier this week with new catalogue goodies - yay! and the DSP I was most looking forward to receiving was 'Farmers Market'. I love all the earthy tones, plus I grow lots of my own veges too.
I really love what I have created even though there is NO stamping! What!? I'm so sorry! It wasn't until I had finished the card that I realised I hadn't stamped anything!

Here is the inspiration sketch #Mojo401
http://mojomonday.blogspot.com.au/2015/06/mojo-monday-401.html
I really enjoy how easily a card comes together when you have a sketch to guide you. If you haven't participated in any challenges before, just give it a try and Mojo Monday is definately the most popular one around!
Here's my card. I used the new Expressions Natural Elements - (wooden laser cut words) these are great value and the font is really lovely too! I cut another pear out of the DSP and popped it up on dimensionals, I felt there was something missing.... so I added some Crystal Effects - forgotten how much I really love that shiny look, so I'll be using lots more in my projects.
I carried the theme on the inside too..

MOJO Monday Challenge - My First entry!

Today is my first entry into the very popular MOJO Monday Challenges! I'm really happy with how my card finished up. These challenges really make crafting a whole lot more enjoyable as half the battle can be deciding where to even begin! Thanks MOJO Monday 400!

Instead of adding a tidy circle down on the left hand corner I decided to rip off a piece of the whisper white and distress it a bit, I added some Crumb cake just in behind and 3 small squares of Typeset DSP and curled the edges up - I love this look!!! I dabbed the brad into the staz on to make it pop out a bit more it was looking a little hidden.

I didn't really want to hide that ripped up corner so I stamped the Camera and greeting from the very new 'YOU"VE GOT THIS!' stamp set onto some vellum and ripped the top and bottom to tie into the rest of the card. I hope you like my creation...here goes I'm submitting my card!

Here is the inspiration sketch - Mojo Monday 400 - Also the team are looking for Designers! WOW I'm not sure how I'll go as this is my first time submitting a card, but I would love to be considered to be a designer nonetheless!
